This wastegate boost control solenoid valve is part of the turbo control on the 1.0 T-GDi G3LC engine. Driven by the ECU, it meters the pressure signal sent to the wastegate actuator on the turbocharger, which is how the engine regulates boost. It is not the actuator itself, nor the blow-off or purge valve. When it sticks or fails electrically you typically get low power, limp mode, a check engine light and underboost or overboost fault codes. Check the small hoses to the valve for splits too, as they cause the same faults. Fits Hyundai i20, i30, Kona and Kia Ceed, Rio, Stonic with the 1.0 T-GDi G3LC engine.
