The front right passenger seat occupancy sensor sits beneath the seat cushion and measures the presence and approximate weight of an occupant, telling the airbag control unit whether to enable or suppress the passenger airbag. A faulty sensor triggers the airbag warning light continuously and can either prevent airbag deployment in a collision or cause unwanted deployment. This is a genuine Renault original part — not an aftermarket sensor — with the exact resistance and signal characteristics the ECU expects.
