Original Renault

The airbag control unit, often called the airbag module or airbag ECU, is the crash computer of the Master III: it sits in the centre of the cab, reads the impact sensors and fires the airbags and seat belt pretensioners. It is replaced after a crash in which the airbags deployed and crash data was stored, or when the airbag warning light stays on because of an internal fault or water damage. It fits the Master III 2.3 dCi and the electric Master E-Tech / Z.E. without front side airbags and without conversion wiring; other equipment takes other numbers, so check by VIN. After fitting, configure the unit with a diagnostic tool and clear the fault memory. 985105091R supersedes 985106290R, so compare the number on your old unit.
