The intercooler air intake cold weather cover partially restricts the front bumper air intake to prevent the intercooler from over-cooling in very cold conditions. When ambient temperatures drop below freezing, excessively cold charge air reduces combustion efficiency on diesel engines, resulting in poor performance, increased smoke, rough idling and higher fuel consumption. This is a genuine Renault original part — not an aftermarket piece — designed specifically for the front-end geometry of the Mégane IV, Scénic IV and Espace V.
