This EGR cooler is a coolant-cooled heat exchanger on the 2.0 four-cylinder diesel. It cools the recirculated exhaust gas before it goes back into the intake, which lowers NOx. It is a separate part from both the EGR valve and the intercooler. It is usually replaced because of an internal leak (coolant loss with no visible drip, white smoke, coolant in the intake), an external leak, clogging or EGR cooler efficiency fault codes. Fits Volvo V40, S60, V60, V90, XC40, XC60 and XC90 2015-2021 with the 2.0 (1969 cm3) D4204T diesel engine (D2/D3/D4/D5). Petrol versions do not have it. Refill and bleed the cooling system. The OEM number is 36003021, so compare it with the number on the old part.
