This load sensing brake compensator valve sits on the frame above the rear axle of the Toyota HiAce and is linked to the axle by a spring. As the load changes the ride height, it adjusts rear brake pressure, so the rear wheels don't lock when the van is empty and still brake properly when it is loaded. It usually needs replacing when the valve or linkage seizes or corrodes (rear wheels lock early, or the rear brakes feel weak when loaded), or when fluid leaks at the valve. Fits Toyota HiAce 1995-2012. OEM numbers: 47900-26543, 47900-26541, 47900-26540. After fitting, bleed the brakes and set the linkage as the workshop manual describes. Similar HiAce numbers exist, so compare the number on the old valve.
