This bonnet latch sits on the upper radiator support of the Hyundai Tucson 2016-2021. It catches the striker on the bonnet and holds it shut. The interior release cable opens it, and the secondary safety catch keeps the bonnet from lifting until you release it by hand. Replace it when the bonnet won't close or open, rattles over bumps, or the bonnet-open warning stays on with the bonnet shut. The striker and the release cable are separate parts. Before unbolting the old latch, mark its position so the bonnet stays aligned. OEM number: 81130D7000 (81130-D7000). Some Tucson TL versions use 81130-D3100 instead, and some have a bonnet switch for the alarm, so a VIN check is useful. Compare the number on your old latch.
