Original Opel/Mopar

The camshaft position actuator solenoid valve sits on the cylinder head at the timing end and controls how much engine oil goes to the camshaft phaser. On signals from the engine control unit, it lets the phaser advance or retard the camshaft timing to suit load and revs. When a camshaft solenoid sticks or fails, you usually get the engine warning light with camshaft timing codes, a rough idle, hesitation, loss of power or higher fuel use. Old or sludged oil is a common cause. This part, number 55595279, fits the Opel Astra K 1.2 Turbo with the F12SHL, F12SHT and F12SHR engines, 2019-2021. Clear the stored fault codes once it is fitted. Before ordering, compare the number on your old valve.
