This EVAP canister purge valve, also called a tank vent valve, comes as a complete kit: the solenoid valve on its mounting bracket, the pre-formed vapour hoses with quick connectors already attached, plus a hose clamp, a screw and plastic clips. It sits in the engine bay on the line from the charcoal canister to the intake. When the engine control unit tells it to, the valve opens so the fuel vapour stored in the canister is drawn into the engine and burnt. It usually needs replacing when it sticks open or shut. Typical signs are EVAP fault codes, a smell of petrol, hard starting just after refuelling or an uneven idle. Number 77365101 is only for the 1.4 T-Jet and 1.4 MultiAir turbo petrol engines in the Alfa Romeo MiTo (120/150 PS) and Giulietta, Fiat Bravo II, Grande Punto, Punto Evo, Punto, Linea, Doblo II, 500L and Tipo II, Lancia Delta III, and Abarth Grande Punto, Punto Evo and Punto.
