The EGR cooler 2311066 is a new heat exchanger in the exhaust gas recirculation of the 1.5 BlueHDi DV5R diesel. Coolant flowing through it cools the recirculated exhaust gas before it re-enters the intake, which lowers NOx. It is usually replaced because of an internal leak (coolant loss, white smoke), an external leak, clogging or EGR efficiency fault codes.
