This oil pump sits low in the engine and is driven by the crankshaft. It draws oil from the sump through the pick-up and pushes it under pressure to the crank and con-rod bearings, the turbocharger and the cylinder head. It is usually replaced when the oil pressure warning light comes on at idle or with a hot engine, when a gauge test shows low pressure, or during an engine rebuild after bearing damage. It fits the Hyundai Kona, Tucson and i30 from 2018, the i40 (2018-2019) and the Kia Ceed, Optima, Sportage and Stonic from 2018 with the 1.6 CRDi (D4FE) engine. The OEM numbers are 261002U001 / 26100-2U001, so compare them with the number on the old pump.
