The oil pressure control solenoid valve sits on the 2.2 SKYACTIV-D diesel and lets the engine control unit regulate the variable-displacement oil pump, so oil pressure follows engine load and speed instead of staying at maximum. It is usually replaced when the engine warning light comes on with an oil pressure control or oil pump solenoid fault code, when the oil pressure warning appears, or when measured oil pressure is too high or too low. Fits Mazda 3 2013-2018, Mazda 6 2012-2017 and Mazda CX-5 2012-2017, only with the 2.2 SKYACTIV-D (SH) engine. Clear the stored fault codes after fitting. OEM numbers: SH01-14-440 / SH0114440. Compare them with the number on the old valve.
